The Fathers of Saint Edward Brotherhood
Illustrated by Sofia Popova
“The issue of ecumenism has been at the forefront of contemporary Orthodoxy for many decades. There are many excellent books available which discuss the theological implications and the history of ecumenism. However, many of these books are scholarly works and assume a knowledge of complex theological terms. We have tried to produce a book which is easily readable and which will be a useful as introduction to the theology of the Orthodox Church and the relationship between Orthodoxy and the non-Orthodox. The first three sections of Christian Union will be of particular interest to readers who want to understand more about the history and theology of ecumenism. Section Four contains a number of frequently asked questions and is more accessible to beginners. Throughout the text, difficult theological words are highlighted and are explained in the glossary at the end of the book. A list of recommended books for further reading is included in an appendix.”
