He was an eyewitness of the Logos and the Passion, and an initiate in the mysteries of His wonders, as He taught His flock to worship the Trinity in three hypostases. Ananias resided in Damascus, where he led that Church as archpastor, after following the commands of the Teacher Christ that he be consecrated a hierarch.
