A volume of The Great Synaxaristes of the Orthodox Church
“Tryphon, the most glorious martyr of Christ, the namesake of heavenly and divine delight and pleasure, was born in the city of Kampsados of Phrygia. His parents, believing in the true God, were pious Orthodox Christians. God vouchsafed them to give birth to a most godly child. Even from his earliest youth, Tryphon was accounted as a worthy child of God. He loved holiness and embraced chastity. The abundance of grace of the Holy Spirit Who inhabited Tryphon’s soul wrought miracles by Tryphon. Every sickness and infirmity was cured by this child-physician. Power and authority were especially bestowed upon the child for the casting out of demons. Tryphon would evoke the divine name solely, and those foul creatures took flight. The bloom of grace induced all to honor him.”
—“On the 1st of February, the holy Church commemorates the holy Martyr TRYPHON.”
